In other words, you can have a serial COM port on your computer connected to a device hundreds of miles away. Very, very cool.

Leuze has strong roots in the printing industry. We are quite adept at sensing in tough applications thanks to technology, such as background suppression, that we have honed to brilliance during our time in business.

Double sheet detection is an extremely important function. Thankfully, we've made it easy (and reliable), so you can focus on the process, not your components. Check out our YouTube video of double sheet detection in action.

Chart Recorder

Electrotech Sales Group will distribute the BrainChild paperless chart recorders in the US. The BrainChild chart recorders are an ideal replacement for older paper chart recorders used to monitor and record data in design, test, manufacturing and processing applications.

The VR18 model features a high resolution 6.4½ LCD display with six plug and play I/O slots. These slots can accept different cards for up to 18 analog inputs or a combination of analog inputs, analog outputs, digital inputs and digital outputs. The analog input cards provide support for thermocouples, RTD’s, voltage inputs or current loop inputs. Input channels offer channel to channel isolation of greater than 400 volts. The flexibility to customize the number of analog or digital inputs and outputs via plug-in cards allows the VR18 to be tailored for specific applications.

The VR18 features a user friendly, soft-key interface for set-up and operation. Multiple display modes allow real-time and historical data to be viewed in several different formats including trend charts, numeric displays, bar graphs or any combination of these. Measured data is recorded in internal Flash or on a removable Compact Flash card for archiving or transfer to a PC. Data, either historical or real-time, can also be viewed on a remote PC connected via Ethernet, RS-232 or RS-422/RS485. The VR18 is available in panel mount or portable configurations depending on the intended application. Optional software provides math support for calculated channels and support for FDA CFR 21 Part 11 compliant reporting.

The VR18 can be used to monitor, record and evaluate equipment, processes, and environmental conditions in a wide range of operations, including chemical, food and beverage, petrochemical, semiconductor, automotive, R&D laboratories and more.

A complete spec sheet on the VR18 may be found here.

The Top 10 Things you Didn't Know About Leuze Electronic PDF Print E-mail

Leuze Electronic - have you heard of us? If not, you will be. We are a manufacturer of world-class products that detect, identify, and protect. Interested in learning who we are and what we do? Here are the Top 10 things you should know about Leuze Electronic (in no specific order):

10. Don't know what we sell? Download our 2009/2010 product guide!

9. Leuze started as a textile company over 100 years ago. As our textile business progressed and industrialized, we found a need for sensors that could detect string breakage on the loom. We couldn't find what we wanted, so we designed and manufactured our own sensor in-house. Our sensor became quite popular, and we found an external market to support sales. Soon thereafter, we found out that sensors are far more profitable than textiles, and the business was transformed into Leuze Electronic overnight.

8. Leuze is a €300 million family-owned world-wide company.

7. We build our light curtains at our facility in New Hudson, Michigan.

6. Our sensors have some of the best optics in the world. On our background suppression sensors, instead of adjusting the electronic gain to teach background suppression, we actually mechanically focus our optics - just like a camera. The result is sensors which are markedly more sensitive than our competitor's.

5. Because we manufacture our light curtains in the USA, our support and turnaround are something of which we are very proud! Need 10 pairs of light curtains? We can ship in a day.

4. Do you have a special safety situation where an out-of-the-box safety configuration is not the best fit? We offer custom firmware that makes our product compatible with your process, not the other way around.

3. Leuze has 1800 employees, and production facilities in the USA, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, Brazil, Australia and China.

2. We offer consulting on how to protect both your workers and business through safety risk assessments.

1. We appreciate your business!

Contact us for more information on how Leuze can help in your manufacturing process.
