Pictured to the left is what we call a Portable Power Distribution Unit, or PDU for short. Walther Electric, manufacturer of IEC-309 pin and sleeve connectors as well as Procon rectangular DIN connectors, has been manufacturing these units at their UL-508A shop in Somerset, New Jersey for the past five years. We here at PDA think they are without a doubt one of the most innovative products we sell, and so far, we have been having fantastic success selling them in our territory.
Okay - so they look pretty neat - but what exactly is a PDU, and who uses them? Think of a PDU as a big surge suppressor that puts power where you need it safely and economically. Traditionally, we have sold PDUs to those in the construction, stage production, and marine industries. However, we have been branching out and selling to what we consider non-traditional customers simply because they need a way to power equipment in a tough environment.
What sets us apart from the competition? For starters, Walther PDUs are completely custom, built-to-spec. You tell us what you want in terms of connectivity, and then we design it and build it. All design and assembly work is 100% done in the USA. Second, our PDUs are made of a high-impact rubber material that is non-conductive. All connections are protected by electrical breakers, and we design our PDUs to be ultra-heavy duty for demanding environments. If you need a way to distribute power safely and economically, Walther has your solution. We build to your spec, and deliver in 4-6 weeks. Our pricing is extremely competitive, and we adjust accordingly for volume. Contact us today if you would like a free quote and design.
